MIT-trained scientist turned Relationship Chemist for high-achieving men

I grew up in an oil and ranching family in the desert of West Texas. I eventually traded in cattle & oil rigs for lab coats & molecules, as I got my PhD in chemistry from the #1 school in the country.

Yet despite graduating from MIT and then UC Berkeley, and a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF, I never had a single class on healthy relationships.

Instead, through long hours in lab, I learned to repress my body and emotions to get by, resulting in social anxiety, stressful relationships, chronic fatigue, and a painful divorce.

After a deep-dive into authentic relating at Burning Man and my first psychology training, I couldn't imagine living the rest of my life in lab and put my pippettes down forever to go say yes to what scared me.

I spent the next decade living in spiritual communities in Asia, studying meditation, relationships, and non-dual metaphysics, turning my view of the world upside down.

At the same time, I trained as both an executive coach with the ICF and a sex, love, and relationship coach.

When my entire concept of who I was got blown open after my divorce, and I found myself alone in a wooden hut on a tropical island with no idea what to do next, I finally stopped trying to logic my way through life and let in somatic ways of knowing.

Suddenly, life got a helluva lot more fun. Unlike a lot of weird spiritual dogma out there, I refused to throw out the scientific worldview even as I learned to love the ineffable. Blending both scientific and somatic helped me date smart after divorce and create a dream relationship with the love of my life.
